Kirsten Keith endorsed by the Sierra Club
Supervisor Candidate Kirsten Keith is pleased and honored
to be endorsed by the Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter

Menlo Park, CA, April 8, 2012 -- Yesterday, Kirsten Keith was endorsed by the Sierra Club, Loma Prieta Chapter, for the San Mateo County Supervisor’s race. The Sierra Club joins the impressive list of elected officials that have endorsed Kirsten Keith. Mayor Keith is now endorsed by 25 current and former Mayors, including Mary Griffin and Mike Nevin, both past presidents of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. Kirsten Keith has also been endorsed by the entire Menlo Park Planning Commission, and every member of the Menlo Park City Council other than one member  who is also a candidate in this race.

"I'm so pleased and honored to have the endorsement of the Sierra Club, it means a lot to me,"  said Mayor Keith. "The Sierra Club advocates for policies that protect our environment. They have been instrumental in advocating for Cool Cities, which offers concrete ways for members to work on climate change issues locally. The Cool Cities teams promote better land use planning in urban centers, energy upgrades and bans on single use plastic bags and polystyrene, among other environmental goals.  It was inspiring to hear the community feedback when I hosted and facilitated a Cool Cities meeting in San Mateo last week."
Mayor Keith lives with her husband and two children in Menlo Park, just two miles from the Menlo Park home her grandparents purchased in the 1950's. Her children attend public schools in San Mateo County, as Mayor Keith and her mother did.
